Who We Are

Support Fremont Schools is a community-led advocacy organization made up of parents, educators, and Fremont residents who believe every student deserves modern classrooms, fair funding, and a community that has their back. We’ve been showing up for Fremont’s schools since the early 2010s — and we’re not stopping now.

Many know us as “Yes on M.” That campaign represents one of our proudest chapters: we built a broad coalition, earned widespread endorsements, and helped pass Measure M — a $919 million school bond approved by over 62% of Fremont voters on November 5, 2024. But our work goes far beyond any single measure. We are the ongoing community organization committed to the long-term health and funding of Fremont Unified School District (FUSD).

Our Purpose

To support Fremont Unified School District with effective funding strategies and ballot measures that give students and staff the resources they need to succeed.

Our Vision

A Fremont where every FUSD student and staff member has the financial resources to fully pursue their educational mission — without compromise.

Our Mission

We engage the Fremont community to pass funding measures and support strategies that strengthen our public schools — now and for generations to come.

Our Core Values

How We Work

Our Story

Support Fremont Schools has been working alongside Fremont voters since 2010 to win the resources that FUSD students deserve. Over more than a decade, we’ve built coalitions, knocked on doors, and run campaigns for five local funding measures — learning from every victory and every setback along the way.

That work has delivered real results. Together, we’ve secured more than $1.5 billion in local funding for Fremont’s schools — renovating aging campuses, upgrading classroom technology, removing asbestos, improving school safety, and sustaining core programs and teacher retention across a district serving nearly 34,000 students. Our parcel tax campaigns put an additional $143 per student directly into FUSD classrooms each year, funding the teachers and programs that make the difference. See our Past Measures.

The latest milestone came in November 2024, when Measure M passed with over 62% of the vote. The $919 million bond will modernize aging campuses, upgrade classroom technology, improve school safety, and replace portable classrooms with permanent facilities — with every dollar staying in Fremont under independent citizen oversight.

Our work doesn’t stop at the ballot box. Today we’re tracking Measure M implementation, monitoring the bond oversight committee, advocating for equitable school funding, and organizing our community for the work ahead. Fremont’s students have always deserved better — and we’re not done fighting for them.

Support Fremont Schools has been advocating for Fremont Unified School District since 2010 — working alongside Fremont voters to close the funding gap in one of Alameda County’s lowest-funded school districts and win the resources our students deserve.

Over more than a decade, we’ve built and run campaigns for five separate funding measures, learning from every victory and every setback along the way.
